Endorsement

"Removing almost all business taxes, including property taxes on improvements, excepting only taxes reflecting the marginal social cost of public services rendered to specific activities, and replacing them with taxes on site values, would substantially improve the economic efficiency of the jurisdiction."William Vickrey, professor of economics and Nobel Laureate

Eight Nobel Laureates in Economics have endorsed a tax on land values rather than on production.

Spread the Word

If you believe that land value taxation is the way forward, share it with a few people you know.

Contact City Hall

In order to get a land value tax adopted in Philadelphia, we need the support of our elected officials in City Hall. Contact your council person and the Mayor's office and ask them to consider the land value tax.

Donate

Gifts of all sizes advance HGFA’s mission – a world that rewards initiative without privilege and yet never forgets that there are those who have been left behind that must be helped, and its commitment to educate each generation of outstanding elected officials to the benefits LVT will provide within their communities.

The power of giving is immeasurable. Outright gifts of cash, and appreciated assets immediately go to work for HGFA, helping to sustain and improve our research, studies, and outreach efforts. Planned gifts provide you with the opportunity to make a future gift to HGFA while reaping the rewards during your lifetime. (Please speak with your trusted financial advisor).

Donors who contribute $100 or more will receive the unabridged edition of Henry George’s Progress and Poverty, which tackles the issue of unequal distribution of wealth and its societal consequences.  George finds that land ownership is the root of this inequality, and proposes a solution of land taxation and the cessation of all other forms of taxation.
