AN ACT ESTABLISHING A LAND VALUE TAXATION PILOT PROGRAM

SB 379 passed through both houses of the state legislature and was signed into law by Governor Rell in July 2009. The law extends the option of enacting a land value property tax pilot program in one municipality of the state.

Proposals and models to effect a modest incremental change in how New London uses its property tax to enhance revenues from land values (community-created) and deemphasize building values (privately created).
